La automatización de procesos es la disciplina de convertir tareas repetitivas y reglas de negocio en flujos de trabajo que se ejecutan solos, con intervención humana reservada exclusivamente a los puntos donde una persona aporta criterio que la máquina no puede tener.

Process automation is the discipline of converting repetitive tasks and business rules into workflows that run on their own, with human intervention reserved for the points where a person contributes judgment the machine cannot have.

Cada hora que el equipo dedica a tareas que un sistema bien configurado podría ejecutar es una hora que no agrega valor. La automatización no busca eliminar el trabajo humano: busca reservarlo para lo que realmente lo requiere.
